The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seventh class Turkish lesson student workbooks and teacher guide books according to reading targets of 2005 Turkish curriculum. For this purpose three publishing house’s books, which are used in 2007-2008 education term, are observed. All applications in books are examined and matched with the reading targets of Turkish curriculum. The findings of this study can be summarized as follow; applications in books are accumulate at some targets of the curriculum, there aren’t any stability at application distribution and applications can’t facilitate the students’ understanding process.
