AN EVALUATION OF CURRICULUM LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE CONTEXT OF UPDATED CURRICULUMS

Due to some recent conceptualizations in the leadership field, new types of leadership are starting to be seen in the literature. One of them is the “curriculum leadership”. The aim of this study is to evaluate curriculum leadership qualities of school administrators within the context of updated curriculums. This study, designed within quantitative research approach framework, was performed using “case study” pattern. The sample of the study consists of 34 middle-school administrators (managers and vice-managers) working in 14 different schools located in central districts of Konya in 2013-2014 academic year. The sample was chosen with “easily accessible case sampling” method. “Semi-structured questionnaire form” was used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed content analysis. Results of the study were taken into consideration within this context, curriculum leadership behaviors of middle school administrators may be judged as being at a middle level.
