AN ATTEMPT TO READ HEINRICH VON KLEISTS “MICHAEL KOHLHAAS” WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF FATALISM-EXISTENTIALISM

Human thrown at the World makes a choice between accepting determinisnm by resiging his/her destiny and realizing his/her existentialism with his/her decisions, actions and responsibilities undertaken. Kleist narrates protagonist’ss struggle for juctice to the reader in his work Michael Kohlhaas fictitionalized from a real person. The story tells readers corruption of the justice mechanism. In this study, the work was analyzed in a dichotomy of fatalism/existentialism. In doing so, we also focused on detecting existentialist and fatalist/determinist traces exhibited in the process of providing justice.
