AN APPLICATION IN BASIC DESIGN COURSE: THREE-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN TRAINING

When the courses with design education are examined, "Basic Design" course is the foreground. Because this course is a compulsory basic course in the curriculum of the first year in some departments of the faculties that include architecture and engineering education in the departments within the Faculty of Art and Design with contents of design education. Therefore, the basic design course is important for every section with design content. The most important factor in the design education process is to give the individual the ability to think in three dimensions. It is the basic subjects of Basic Design course to make the exercises which give the ability of thinking and drawing three dimensionally. In this research, young designers have reached the resources to gain the ability to think in three dimensions. For this purpose, basic design I-II course content has been developed. Curriculum; • Making a cube, rectangle and polygon from 1 week paper, • Make a perspective drawing from these objects on 2nd week, • Making a drawing from four different angles of a different design made of the same objects in the third week and drawing charcoal, • Week 4 drawing from four different angles of different designs made of the same objects and color toning, At the end of the study, a 5-question questionnaire using the likert scale of 5 was applied. exercises were carried out and the method results were analyzed.
