Events in the fields like society, culture, economy, politics, art and technology in the globalizing world lead the nations of the world to be in closer contact with one another. In addition to the adventages provided by the globalizing world, disadventages have started to affect the lives of societies (Gündo?du, 2010). Responsibilities of societies, families, educators, and politicians have increased against the threats of the right and wrongs (dependency and moral degeneration) caused by war, economic chaos, inconsisteny and insecurity, political relations, and expeditiously developing technology. The primary ones who are responsible for this issue are educators. While searching for solutions on the problems of globalization, there are opinions specifying that usage of advanced standarts is a need, as well as that the nation have to protect its own culture and also that mutual cultural integration is necessaryIn the Turkish Language Teaching departments, generations should be raised giving importance to values and qualities that provide rational solutions for all kinds of problems, and also solve social problems, allow social development with his/her own. Teacher is litterateur in terms of field knowledge. The Turkish Teacher who grow up with this point of view makes the lessons functional and becomes the practitioner of pragmatic education. To do this, firstly, a Turkish teacher should know the details of the language as much as an academician and know his culture with its all detail. While the language is analyzed in literature departments with their own methods, in psychology and PDR departments studies are carried out on language development, but in Turkish Language Teaching the same importance is not given to these studies. Abstract thinking skills are one of them. Another one of the ways to enable the improvement of the abstract ideas in students is to reveal these ideas through the activities and practices in the texts that are transferred from life to literature. In this study, Piaget's abstract processing period, deduction and induction, hypothetical thinking, analogy steps, and the embedded method used in literary texts has examined on the "Flag” text in the 7th grade Turkish textbook. In Turkish Language Teaching, the applications of similar studies can also provide access to the steps of analysis, synthesis, comprehension, reaching new ideas specified with the Bloom’s taxonomy
