ABBASKULU AGA BAKUHANOVS LIFE, WORKS AND HIS KITAB-I ASKERIYE STORY

Abbaskulu A?a Bakühanov who has an important place in the 19th century Azerbaijan literature was promoted to the degree as high as colonel. Bakühanov who is a scholar of logic and astronomy, linguist, historian, traveller, geographer, poet is also considered as one of the first representatives of modern Azerbaijan prose. Bakühanov who had prose and poetic works in four languages, Azerbaijan Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Russian wrote his prose works Riyazü’l-Kuds and Kitab-? Askeriye in Azerbaijan Turkish.

This story shows some traces of modern Azerbaijan literature. However, the effect of this story is more classic literature.

In this study, first of all, a lot of information will be given about the life, works, and art of Bakühanov. In addition to this, full text of Kitab-? Askeriye, which is accepted as the first example of modern prose of Soviet reign Azerbaijan literature, its explanation and the place of it in Azerbaijan literature history will be given.
