Assyrians are one of the oldest civilizations in Mesopotamia which was a cradle to many civilizations. Dating back to five thousand years ago, the Assyrians as a community with a current population of about six million live in different parts of the world including mainly Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, India and Syria. During and after the period of Ottoman Empire, our historical, cultural and economic relations with Assyrians have always continued in the Republic of Turkey. This study gives a brief information about the ?ark Y?ld?z? (Kevkeb Mednho) daily, a multilingual publication in the languages of Syriac, Arabic in Assyrian alphabet and Turkish in Assyrian alphabet, providing a transcription of several verses written in Turkish in Assyrian alphabet, together with the translation of verses into modern Turkish. The poem is featured both in Assyrian version and Turkish version in Assyrian alphabet. In this study we aim to encourage researchers to use Turkish resources in Assyrian alphabet to examine such work in terms of language and literature. In Assyrian poems the main purpose is to communicate religious doctrines. The poems have various religious themes focusing on mainly abandoning the possessions, pledge, road to salvation as well as other themes including praise, mourning, satire, wisdom, philosophy, friendship, yearning, valor and love.
