A SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS ON THE BEHAVIORS OF STUDENTS REGARDING THE CONCEPT THE “SYRIAN” (A CASE OF BULENT ECEVIT UNIVERSITY AND KARABUK UNIVERSITY)

This study focuses on the meanings ascribed to the “Syrians”. The study aims at determining the behaviors of sociology students at undergraduate level regarding the concept of Syrian. The basic problem of the study, how the social field formed through Syrian refugees is interpreted by the sociology students. The study employed quantitative method and the participants responded to a questionnaire form of 19 questions. The questionnaire mainly consists of the agenda related to citizenship issues as well as interpretation of aids given to the Syrians, how education and health services offered to the Syrians are perceived, assessment of their negative and positive impact on Turkish economy, and social problems caused by the Syrian refuges.
