In recent years, cities have been overheating due to climate change or have been adversely affected by excessive precipitation. As a result of this situation, global warming and urban heat island effect occurs in cities, cities are warming and people's quality of life are negatively affected. Urban planners have begun to put forward new planning approaches as a solution to the negative conditions experienced. These approaches vary according to the climate, topography and demographic characteristics of each city. Xeriscape landscape, one of the urban planning approaches, is included in new planning and approach decisions in accordance with the current environmental conditions. This study has been prepared for Xeriscape landscaping practices that minimize the use of water and protect water resources in water demand that arise with climate change, global warming and environmental problems in cities. It has been prepared to make a sample study. The housing area in the Be?irli neighborhood of the city of Trabzon has been considered as the study area. Three proposals for xeriscape landscape practices design studies have been put forward in the open space around the residence. Seven basic principles of xeriscape landscape practices were taken into consideration in the design studies. The application studies in Turkey, especially in the study also were examined.
