A RESEARCH ON THE USAGE AND PROBLEMS OF BUILDING MATERIALS IN THE ELEMENTS OF PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES: THE CASE OF BURSA

Human beings tried to adapt their environment to their needs and desires. This effort of humanity has brought various architectural buildings. Pedestrian bridges are the types of structures built to overcome different obstacles of humanity from past to present. Different building materials are used in pedestrian bridges. The building materials of pedestrian bridges, which are usually open to atmospheric effects, problems occur over time. Building materials are important for long life and safety of pedestrian bridges.This study aims to determine the materials and their problems of some pedestrian bridges which were in Bursa. The material problems, which are identified through observation, were recorded in the mentioned forms. The findings were reported in a matrix. The results of the matrix were evaluated. The study was completed by giving suggestions on the problems which are identified.
