Trust is one of the basic elements of social capital and researchs have found that there is a strong connection between the abundance (or the lack) of trust levels and that society’s political, economical and social wealth. It is recorded that the highness trust levels is linked with the healthy functioning democratical system in a society, and the lowness of trust levels form a prosperous ground for an authoratative and an undemocratical system to flourish. Researschs show that between the economical development and trust there is a straight line also, and the trust levels are also high in societies where primary income distrubution is more just, and the oparability of instutions are better and the level of education is high. As in the whole world, in Turkey too there is an inclination towards political distrust since 1990’s. In this work which includes the discoveries of the research on the trusts levels for the political and social figures in Turkey; age, gender, level of education, level of income and the relationsship between media and political trust is also evaluated. According to this research, the trust levels on political and social figures is low, and the distrust levels are obviously high. The most trusted f?gure is scientists. Out of 23 political and social f?gures, only 5 has an higher trust level than that of distrust.
