A RESEARCH ON CONFORMITY OF SECONDARY LEVEL HISTORY TEXTBOOKS PERTINENT TO STUDENTS DEGREE OF DEVELOPMENT

Textbooks are one of the most ancillary materials of educational activities. Textbooks constitute dramatically the information which students try to create in their mind. Therefore preparation of these boks suitably for individuals development period and level of learning provide significant contributions. Especially secondary school students are in their adolescence period. So this condition should be teken into consideration. It is important that textbooks should be prepared carefully for healty growing. The purpose of this research is analyzing the history textbooks. According to students characteristics of development (cognitive, language, personality, morality and social) which are taught at secondary level education and making contribution to literature in this regard. In this context, this study is a basic research and the screening model is used. As a result it is determined that secondary level history books are well prepared generally but there is significant deficiencies in terms of conformity of students level of cognitive development.
