A RESEARCH IN THE CONTEXT OF MEDIA, CULTURE AND SIMULATION

 The general economic order and competitive environment affect the understanding of art in media content. Due to its high ratings, screenplays that have simple topics and without perspective occupy television programs. Television series are being broadcasted especially at high viewing hours and there are series with similar scenarios on different television channels. In this study, Turkish television series are discussed in terms of culture and affinity. Faceto-face interview method was used to collect the data, and the answers to the questions posed to 10 participants were analyzed. According to the results of the research; Participants prefer television serials mainly to enjoy their leisure time. Mafia, intrigue, comedy series are preferred much  by the participants . It is understood that some people who follow the series can take on the roles of these characters in real life. The locations where the TV series  arouse a sense of curiosity and admiration for the audience. As a result of the answers of the participants, it is understood that the purchasing status of the products shown in the series is almost non-existent.
