Abstract

In this study, the life story of Mehmed who was the member of Giridîzâde family which was very influential in Balikesir starting from the eighteenth century is given. However, the main purpose of this paper is to show how considerable the wealth of this pasha and its contents and relations with Bal?kesir by looking at his tereke register which was written after his death in the Crimean war. On the other hand, the life of Mehmed Pasha started in Bal?kesir and ended in Crimean war was dealed with according to the available contemporary sources and archival materials.
