If we look at the concept of globalization from an economic perspective, on which frequent discussions in many aspects are made about, we can see that the effects of globalization on the concept of nation state, labor markets, growth and development of countries find a large place in the related literature. One of the other major points in question is the impact of globalization on income distribution. There are different debates in the literatüre about what the inequality in global income distribution is, which factors cause such an inequality, if an unequal development existsand how to fix it. In this study, improvements in global income distribution have been investigated with the help of a new index that measures the inequality in global income distribution. According to the results we obtained, although the inequality of global income distribution decreased lightly because of 2008 financial crisis, it has been increased significiantly since 1980s.
