A GENERAL EVALUATION ON FACTORS AFFECTING RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FROM 1924 TO 1950

One of the first and most important developments of the Republic Period in the field of education is the Unification of Education Act, which came into force in 1924. This date is also the beginning of the new educational goals of the Republic. The period from 1924 to 1950 in Turkey, is a period where the basic dynamics of the Republic and the strengthened implementation. Especially between 1938 and 1950 more obvious examples of this is seen. Formal religious education and teaching were highly adversely affected in this period. In this study, in this process religious education and teaching practices and the main factors affecting these applications will be evaluated. According to this, religious education between 1924 and 1950 has undergone an intermittent and irregular process. The main factors affecting this are the application way of secularism, the effects of Kemalism and the adoption of positivist / pragmatist education. Research is a theoretical study based on literature and document analysis
