Fear of crime as a social phenomenon, brings the necessity of analyzing the issue in urban scale because of the decisive increase in statistical crime rates in the cities and also the emergence of new crime types in urban area. Fear of crime which has physiological and social aspects, limits the city-dwellers’ daily lives and reduces the quality of life. However, adequate fieldwork has not been done for the governors and decision-makers to guide them while coping with fear. This article brings up a question to the literature on fear of crime, to evaluate the subject from urban perspective.
