Abstract

Author(s): Şanser VURGUN

The Brave New World is a dark fiction of the future, written by Huxley. This dystopia contains more than one problem of justice. Most importantly, it is a government that puts pressure on its citizens with the problem of "eugenics" and eugenics. Applications that occut with the understandin of eugenics are called applications. Michel Foucault has important views regarding the legitimacy of totalitarian regimes, permanence on citizens, relations of power and problems in the context of them. These are opinions that have gone far beyond him own lives and are still being discussed today. In this study, starting from the Brave New World, the place of eugenic practices in the power relationship will be interpreted through the concept of panopticon. In this subject, it will be mentioned that eugenic practices in the work replace the panoptic effect in power relations with a synoptic effect and a transformation into a synoptic society.
