Author(s): Eda PURUTÇUOĞLU, İrfan DOĞAN

The shaping of social problems as "eco-social" is an important step to establish a link between social work and sustainable development. The basic emphasis on the concept of eco-social development is on the social aspect of the concept of sustainable development as a whole. The growing concern of human beings about ecological crises and environmental problems has shown that economic and social changes are needed, which are based on rethinking core values. Ecological crises and environmental problems will increase the awareness of environmental justice at the focus of social work, and will enable the profession to progress in ecological justice. In this study, it will be discussed why sustainable development should be a working theme for social work, and the relationship between sustainable development and ecological social services will be addressed.
