THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN GENERAL TARGETS AND GOALS/ACQUISITIONS IN TURKISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM

Abstract

Author(s): Erhan DURUKAN

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of meeting general targets of goals/acquisitions in Turkish Language program. For this purpose, general targets of the program and goals/acquisitions of basic language abilities were examined, and it was determined which goals/acquisitions are related to which general rules. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: Goals/acquisitions enabled the general rules to improve language ability and increase upper- level mental ability, whereas they could not meet the general rules of values and attitudes. To remove this deficiency, the expressions of values and attitudes in the goals/acquisitions section of the program should be increased. Seperate goals/acquisitions of values and attitudes should be determined under a different title, and activity examples to gain values and attitudes should be provided.
