Abstract

Author(s): Ahsen AYAN, Hande NVER ZDO?AN

Global warming and associated climate changes are increasing their effects every day. The meteorological and hydrological anomalies that have been detected signalize that global warming can change life on Earth into a different form. While the consciousness towards natural happenings and the earned experiences brought humankind to reigning position, nowadays the changing climate events is a topic that must be solved and adapted to as soon as possible by humankind that will not want to lose its position. Climate changes, which have started to make their effects felt in almost every field and sector, will also have an impact on the unstable language. With the change of teachings, experiences, memorizations, and cliches, the language that is bearing traces of them will need to evolve. Proverbs, which reflect the reflections of societies on the style of emotions, thoughts, and beliefs, behavior patterns, human relations, and the consciousness they develop in the face of events, are the most convenient resources to observe the effects of global warming on language.
