SOCIAL MEDIA APPLICATIONS IN THE FRAMEWORK DIALOGIC COMMUNICATION FOR MAYOR OF METROPOLITAN

The main aim of this research is to explain how to use social media applications within the framework of Kent and Taylor’s dialogic principles for metropolitan mayors. This paper assessed dialogic characteristics of a few Mayors’ Twitter applications that are President of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Ibrahim Melih Gokcek, President of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Huseyin Sozlu, President of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Aziz Kocaoglu and Co-President of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality Firat Anli. Twitter applications of Metropolitan mayor have been successful in terms of ideological principles. According to results of the present study, while co-President of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality Firat Anli’s Twitter applications has been partially applications due to the level of dialogic communication, other mayors Twitter applications are not sufficient.
