PROPHET MUHAMMAD AND MIRACLE ACCORDING TO THE QURAN

Abstract

Author(s): Ä°hsan ARSLAN

In this study while the relation of the Prophet Muhammad with the miracle was examined, the Qur'an was used as the basic reference source. It has also benefited from hadith and sources of Islamic history. As a result of this research, it is concluded that sending miracles belongs to Allah in the basis of Qur’anic verses, sensible/tangible miracles were given to the other prophets but Prophet Muhammad and that has not caused any deficiencies on the Messenger of Allah. From this point of view, Allah has given the Prophet Muhammad the Qur'an, which has impacts beyond the ages and is the only rational/spiritual miracle both as a source of messages and evidence and testimony of prophecy. Therefore, in this context, the miracles attributed to Prophet Muhammad outside the Qur'an as an effort of competing the prophets must be met with caution.
