Dams; are used for various purposes as drinking water supply, irrigation, fisheries, flood control, river trasport since the start of using water by humanity, they are artificial lakes made for socio-economic, securtiy and strategical purposes especially built on rivers for energy production and recreation, with accumulation of water in the basin formed by a inhibitor (dike and sets) structure in modern society. HPS dam projects, due to the significant positive or negative effects to the natural environment and human life have always became focal point of the national and international society past and today. Il?su dam project which is the subject of our research is also an issue for many years in Turkey's agenda. Implementation of this project will lead to flooding of the hasankeyf, has made home to numerous civilizations and cultures, and home to many historical and cultural monuments, also several settlements in the Tigris valley will be flooded, made environmental impact and mass migration will occur, this migration will lead to socio-economic impacts. Il?su dam's impacts of as a natural and cultural environment Hasankeyf settlement and cultural structure, possible socio economic impacts on the Hasankeyf's natives questioned with the wiev of the people of Hasankeyf, with 212 people live on Hasankeyf survey and interview was conducted about Il?su dam's potential positive or negative impact or what the nascent reflection. Answers are evaluated and interpretated. For the continuation of presence without released underwater our cultural and historical heritage Hasankeyf, has drawn attention to Five System Alternative Il?su Dam Project which is adventageous in many ways from planned Il?su dam project.
