“Gülüstan-? rem” by Abbaskulu Aga Bakihanov is an important work for Azerbaijan history and it is considered as a resource book for researchers since it deals with social, political and cultural history of the era. The book provides information about social and political structure of Shirvan and Dagestan by using both the eastern and western resources. The book also gives information about how the political structure of the region came into being and the conflicts between nations and states which played significant role to determine the political structure of the region. Some parts of book enlighten the role of the Crimean Tatars especially the role of Giray and his end.
