AYDIN PRODUCTION OF BELLOWS BOOTS

Manufacturing handmade leather product, which used to be carried out in many districts of Anatolia as an ancestral art form, is currently still sustained in some provinces although not as widw-spread as it used to be. Bellows boots in leather works; It is known as a kind of shoe with an artistic and cultural value that is made of processed leather, cattle small and bovine leather that provides comfortable movement in the mountains for efes in Anatolia. In this study, the production of bellows boots in Ayd?n province was studied. For this purpose, the tools and equipments used in the production of bellows, parts of bellows, types of bellows, their usage areas and production techniques are discussed in a comprehensive way. The parts of the shoe, the elements that make up the saya and the Saya, the elements that make up the base and the base, the boot, the history of the boot and the bellows boot literature about the information was transferred. In this research, descriptive research method with scanning technique was used. Thus, it is aimed to reveal the current situation about the bellows boots in Ayd?n. In the research, the data obtained from the bellows boots master Serkan Gündüz and Efe below boots workshop are case studies. It was chosen as the research universe because the origin and production point of bellows boots is Ayd?n and this province is identified with bellows boots. Serkan master was chosen as a research sample because of being the youngest masters of Ayd?n, the support he gave to the researcher in his work environment, transparency and accessibility. It was found that bellows continued to be used in yörük festivities, camel wrestling, folk dance groups. Using traditional methods, it was determined that the apprentices who would continue this art were not trained and that this art was not accepted as a profession and was not evaluated in the field of souvenir making in terms of tourism, outside the standard usage areas. All natural materials are used in bellows boots production.
